My usual Birkenstock size is 42 normal, but I take 43 normal for toe post styles like Kairo and Gizeh. My Londons (in black) are size 43 normal and interestingly they do have toe grips in the footbeds. I usually wear these with Norwegersocken which are fairly thick, but they are comfortable to wear and warm at this time of year! The heel leather will eventually soften and not cause any discomfort.
